Call for Safety & Quality Solutions (India) Pvt. Ltd observed the 48th National Safety Day/Week by conducting various talks and discussions on a range of topics from the Health, Safety & Environment field.
The event began with an introductory talk by Capt.Ramprasad, Director, CSQS.
It was followed by the Safety Pledge, administered by Mr.Binil Babu, Dy. HSE Manager, CSQS.
He delivered a talk on the theme “Cultivate and sustain a Safety Culture for building Nation”
Student participation was encouraged. Each of the participants presented a short talk on the following days.
On 5th March, Mr. Ashraf, a HSE Aspirant began the session by talking on importance of following safety rules while driving vehicles, to avoid hazards such as collision, overturning etc.
On 7th March, Mrs. Bhagyalakshmi Babu, Director (Admin), CSQS, discussed the effects of “Stress” which is a major hazard across all workplaces these days. She also outlined practical means that each person could take, to ensure their lives are not lost due to this hazard.
Mr. Ramesh Babu, MD, CSQS, took up the next session. He spoke about the various manual handling hazards that are commonly present in the workplace, also, highlighting the counter measures to be taken to adequately control these hazards.
Mr. Arvin Pereira, an experienced HSE Officer spoke about the importance of using various Machine Guards to prevent injuries from machine operations.
Mr. Avin Coelho, a H2S Specialist highlighted the Electrical Hazards and Control Measures.
Mr. Sheikh Wahaz Ahamad, yet another budding HSE Aspirant, led the team through the hazards present during use of Display Screen Equipments. He also detailed the points to be considered during designing a computer workstation.
Mr. Prasanna Acharya, a HSE Officer with gulf experience, explained about the basic principles of Fire Initiation & Spread; and, all necessary arrangements to be taken to prevent fires at workplaces.
The Program was concluded by Ms. Dayana D’Souza, Front Office Manager, CSQS. She also distributed National Safety Council – Karnataka Chapter Calendars of the year 2019 to all participants.
